ROAD The starting point to Dune Cottageis Fort William, at the head of Loch Linnhe, which is on the A82. This can be approached from the South either via Glasgow and Loch Lomond to Crianlarich and thence to Fort William or by heading for Stirling on the M9 and turning off at Junction 10 to Doune, Callander, Crianlarich and Fort William. From the A82 north of Fort William take the A830 to Mallaig, stay on the A830 to Arisaig.
From Arisaig there are two options: (1) This is the quicker of the two options. Take the new road from Arisaig to Mallaig. Travel along this road for about 5 miles until the Morar turn-off. Just before the Morar turn off, on your left is a small exit signposted Camusdarach and Tougal. Follow this road for about 11/2 miles until you reach Glenancross Farm on your left, just after the Camusdarach car park.
(2) The second route follows the old road through Arisaig and along the coastline and is the more scenic route. You must turn off the new road and proceed through Arisaig, continue on the old road for a few miles, go past the Traigh golf course on your right and Glenancross Farm is a further 11/2 miles on the right hand side clearly recognisable by the farm buildings in a dip. If you come to the car park for Camusdarach beach you have come just too far and the house is just behind you.
Dune Cottage is approximately 3 hours from Glasgow and 31/2 hours from Edinburgh
